A theatre company has been established in Pictou County. Acts Theatre Society (Ministry of Drama) combines drama and ministry, education and entertainment, religious and secular presentations. The Society wishes to create and stage original religious and secular dramas. The dramas can have a wide range of themes. They can be tragic, comic, or any combination of the two. Original music will be a common ingredient. Ministry is always more important than performance. There are no stars in the performances; the theme or message is the star of the show. When admission is charged, the charity receiving the profit will be clearly indicated.
The International Order of St. Luke the Physician is a world-wide interdenominational body of Christians who believe that the healing of the body, mind and spirit is a vital part of the total ministry of Jesus Christ. We practice this ministry with teaching and prayer.
and Development Fund PWRDF is a response by Canadian Anglicans to the gospel call to bear witness to God's healing love in a broken world. Inspired by the vision of a spirit-filled community of hope, PWRDF walks together with partners in Canada and overseas, to share in the creation of a more just and peaceful world. In joy and struggle, the Primate's Fund engages in development work, responds to emergencies, works to protect refugees, and educates and advocates for change.

Formally founded in 1904 and chartered in 1906, the Canadian Bible Society is a member of the United Bible Societies, a fellowship of 137 national Bible societies around the world. The Mission to Seafarers, formerly called The Missions to Seamen, is a missionary society of the Anglican Church, which cares for the spiritual and practical welfare of all seafarers regardless of nationality or faith. Through our network of chaplains, staff and volunteers in 300 ports worldwide, we reach out to them by visiting them on their ships, offering a welcome and whatever help may be needed. In over 100 ports we run centres where seafarers can relax away from their ships, get local information, find help with problems, share worship and telephone or email home.
The name TEARMANN comes from a Gaelic word meaning 'refuge'. While members of the Tearmann Society engage in various activites in support of the victims of family violence, the most important role of Tearmann House is to be a safe place for battered women and their children. |
