We are lifting the following in prayer this week:
The Church Family at St. George's

It was the famous Victorian poet laureate that said of prayer:
"More things are wrought by prayer than this world dreams of."
~Morte D'Arthur by Alfred Lord Tennyson~

Scriptures are filled with examples of prayer raised to God
by the prophets, apostles and our Lord.

"And I will do whatever you ask in My name,
so that the Son may bring glory to the Father." ~ John 14:13 ~
"So Peter was kept in prison,
but the church was earnestly praying to God for him." ~ Acts 12:5 ~
"One of those days Jesus went out into the hills to pray,
and spent the night praying to God." ~ Luke 6:12 ~
"Ask and you will receive,
and your joy will be complete."~ John 16:24 ~
"It is good to give thanks to the Lord." ~ Psalm 92:1 ~
"I will exalt You and praise Your name,
for in perfect faithfulness You have done marvellous things."~ Isaiah 25:1 ~
"Praying always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit." ~ Ephesians 6:18 ~

Prayer Power Chain

We have recently re-designed the prayer group, in particular,
how members receive prayer requests. We have also recently added 15 new members.
When we first introduced Prayer Power several years ago,
we had 5 prayer chains each containing approximately 10 members.
All requests were forwarded to members through phone calls.
We discovered that often the members at the end of each group
did not receive all prayer requests
or often received them later than we would like.
Likewise, during the years we have functioned as a group
some of our members have moved away,
passed away, or in a few instances felt that they no longer wished to continue in the group.
Increasingly we have been contacting members through e-mails.
We now have 17 members who receive prayer requests by phone, 37 by e-mail.
Most of our members who receive a prayer request by e-mail
are not asked to telephone anyone
or send an e-mail to another member.

Just a reminder that we ask you to lift each request in prayer for a two week period.
We also ask that you pray the Prayer of St. George's daily.

If you have a prayer request for Prayer Power, phone or e-mail one of the wardens.
See wardens'page on this site.
This group functions independently of the prayer names included each Sunday in the bulletin.
If you wish to have a name in the bulletin,
contact our church office at 752-4551.
We have also recently added 15 new members.

God ALWAYS answers prayer!
Something GOOD always happens because of prayer!
Sometimes God doesn’t give us the specific answer we desire!
Sometimes the answer is YES! Sometimes NO! Sometimes WAIT!
And sometimes the prayer is answered in ways that we may not recognize.

A Prayer
I asked God for strength,
that I might achieve;
I was made weak,
that I might learn to obey.
I asked for health,
that I might do great things;
I was given infirmity,
that I might do greater things.
I asked for riches,
that I might be happy;
I was given poverty,
that I might be wise.
I asked for power,
that I might have the praises of people;
I was given weakness.
that I might feel the need of God.

I asked for all things,
that I might enjoy life;
I was given life,
that I might enjoy all things.
I received nothing I asked for ~
but all I hoped for;
almost despite myself;
my unspoken prayers
were answered.
I am, most richly blessed.
