Formation of a Youth Group:

At its March 31, 2005 Church Council meeting St. George's Council enthusiastically committed its support for
the formation of a Youth Group
based at St. George's. Young People who are in Grades 7 to 12
are eligible. Any Young People within ACPC churches or friends
from other denominations are invited to become members.
If interested, contact Erin Wadden.
The Rectors, Debi and Donnie Wadden will provide Adult support to the group.

A Message from Erin Wadden:

Our youth group has been up and running since Nov 12, 2006. Our first project was to give our group a name. After some deliberation we decided on Royal Anglican Youth or RAY for short. We have grown from a group of six (6) to sixteen (16). Bring a buddy has worked well for our group. We encourage all youth within ACPC to join us but will accept any youth age twelve and up to join us regardless of religious background.

We meet every Sunday from 6 pm to 7:30 pm at St George's Church Hall. A normal evening begins with ice breaker games followed by Bible Study. We have an informal meeting session enjoying pizza as we discuss items for future meetings or plans we are making for the youth group. Our evening usually ends with games. Our rectors have attended when they are available and often take part in all aspects of our meeting including the games. An adult advisor is also present at each meeting.

Some of the ideas we are currently considering are:

1/ Joining St George's outreach service at one of the senior citizen's homes
2/ 30 Hour Famine Relief
3/ raising money for as yet an unnamed charity by selling such items as bracelets, etc…
4/ Easter drama at St George's to be part of the regular service
5/ Organizing a Youth church service
6/ Helping at the Food Bank

Thank you to St. George's:

We would like to take this opportunity to thank St George's for letting us use the Church Hall each week and for providing us with pizza. We certainly appreciate your kindness.

An Invitation:

I would like to encourage all youth within ACPC to attend one of our meetings to see if this group is something you could enjoy. We normally advertise our meeting in our church bulletin each week. For more information please contact Erin . Hope to see you there!
